T.I. Claims He Created Trap Music
T.I. stopped by the AT&T Studio to talk with Angie Martinez about his separation from Tiny, working with Kevin Hart, and upcoming new music. The rapper revealed that his next album will feature trap music because " a lot of people don't really, really know that I created trap music." T.I. confidently spoke with Angie about this, saying he's the person responsible for bringing trap music to life. “There was no such thing as trap music prior to [T.I.]. No such thing. It didn’t exist,” he continued. “It was OutKast and crunk, like that’s what it was. Organized Noize and crunk.”
For those who might T.I.'s claims, he cites his second album Trap Muzik as proof that he created this genre of rap music. Fans of trap have taken to Twitter to debate T.I.'s claims. Some agree with what he's saying, while others believe Outkast or Young Jeezy are the true genesis of trap.
When Trap Muzik dropped there were other trap music artists dropping similar sounding music.

Whether you agree with T.I. or not, he's definitely started a conversation about trap music and it's origins. What do you think about Tip's comments...is he the true creator of trap?
